Pornhub is the biggest porn site, with about 3.4 billion visits in September 2026, or roughly 113 million a day (our calculation), according to Semrush. That makes it the 10th most-visited website in the world on Semrush’s ranking.
XVideos came second with about 2.27 billion visits, according to Semrush’s adult ranking. Pornhub had about 1.5 times as many visits as XVideos and 8.3 times as many as Chaturbate (our calculation).

xHamster is the fastest-growing of the top 3. Its visits rose 22.08% between September 2025 and September 2026, while Pornhub’s fell 13.86% and XVideos’ fell 13.57%, according to Semrush.
The two leaders have lost ground as age-check rules spread. Pornhub’s visits from France and the UK fell much faster than its global total, as the country data in our Pornhub traffic statistics shows.

Where Does the Biggest Porn Sites’ Traffic Come From?
The United States is the top source of traffic for every one of the 7 biggest sites. It sent 43.83% of Chaturbate’s visits and 37.14% of XNXX’s in September 2026, according to Semrush.
In the US, XVideos edged out Pornhub with 665.36 million visits against 652.28 million, according to Semrush’s US ranking. Brazil is the second-biggest market for XVideos, at 15.83% of visits.

How Do Semrush and Similarweb Rankings Compare?
Similarweb’s estimates are lower for most big sites. It shows about 1.2 billion visits for Pornhub on its site page, against Semrush’s 3.4 billion, a gap of 2.8 times (our calculation).
The order also changes. On Similarweb, xHamster (1.1 billion) is close to Pornhub, and Stripchat (741.3 million) beats XNXX (489.2 million), according to its pages for xHamster and Stripchat.

Both tools model traffic from panels and clickstream data, so neither is a count. Semrush’s XVideos figure is 2.6 times Similarweb’s, while for xHamster the gap is 1.5 times (our calculation).

How Many EU Users Do the Biggest Porn Sites Report?
The EU made Pornhub, Stripchat and XVideos “very large online platforms” on December 20, 2023, after finding each met the threshold of 45 million average monthly users in the EU, according to the European Commission. XNXX followed in July 2024, according to Eunews.
The sites’ own counts tell a different story. XVideos reported 150 million monthly EU users in August 2023, 84 million in August 2024 and 31 million in its February 2025 report, according to heise online. That’s a 79.3% drop (our calculation).
Stripchat’s operator reported 31.8 million EU users for February 2023, while the Commission put it above 62 million using Similarweb data, about 1.9 times higher (our calculation), according to MTR Legal. The Commission ended Stripchat’s designation on May 27, 2025, after Similarweb’s corrected method put it at about 37.3 million.

How Many People in the UK Visit the Biggest Porn Sites?
Pornhub had 9.8 million UK visitors in August 2025, down from 11.3 million a year earlier, according to Ofcom data reported by The Independent. Age checks became mandatory on July 25, 2025.
Meanwhile, xHamster and XVideos gained UK visitors year on year. xHamster rose from 5.9 million to 7.3 million and XVideos from 6.3 million to 7.4 million between August 2024 and August 2025, according to Ofcom’s Online Nation 2025.

Pornhub’s reach fell to 15% of UK online adults in August 2025, from 18% in May 2024, a 3-point drop (our calculation), while 29% of UK online adults (13.8 million) visited any porn service in May 2024, according to Ofcom. UK site data is one slice of the wider picture of how many people watch porn.

Who Owns Pornhub?
Pornhub belongs to Aylo, formerly MindGeek, which Ethical Capital Partners bought in March 2023 for $400 million, according to The Logic. ECP owns 100% of the shares.

Who Owns XVideos and XNXX?
XVideos and XNXX belong to WGCZ Holding, a Prague company. Stéphane Pacaud held 93% of WGCZ Holding in 2019, with the other 7% held by a Hong Kong company, according to netzpolitik.org. He also owned 93% of NKL Associates, which runs XNXX.
XVideos was founded in Paris by Pacaud, a French entrepreneur, and launched on March 1, 2007; he co-owns the group with his sister Malorie Pacaud, according to Wikipedia. The business magazine Challenges estimated his wealth at €400 million, ranking him 245th in France.
The Pacauds, Czech businessman Robert Seifert and Marjorie Grocq held leadership roles in about 30 companies in 2022 registered at one Prague address, netzpolitik.org found in its registry review. WGCZ also bought Penthouse at a 2018 bankruptcy auction for $11.2 million, according to Wikipedia.
Who Owns xHamster?
xHamster is run by Hammy Media Ltd in Limassol, Cyprus, which is owned by another Cypriot company, Wisebits. Oleg Netepenko holds 90% of Wisebits and Dmitry Gusev 10%, according to a Der Spiegel and NDR investigation reported by blue News.
Both are Russians living in Cyprus, and almost 300 people work at Wisebits, the outlets reported. xHamster launched in August 2007, according to Wikipedia.

Stripchat is operated by Technius Ltd, the company that challenged its EU designation in court, according to MTR Legal. Wisebits runs both Stripchat and xHamster, Il Post reported in 2025.

What Legal Pressure Do the Biggest Porn Sites Face?
The EU opened formal proceedings against Pornhub, Stripchat, XNXX and XVideos on May 27, 2025, according to the European Commission. On March 26, 2026, it found all 4 in preliminary breach for letting minors in with one click, with fines of up to 6% of global turnover possible, according to Eunews.
In the US, 27 states now require adult sites to verify ages, according to the Free Speech Coalition. Pornhub blocks or restricts access in 25 of them, and the states with porn age verification laws each come with their own start dates and penalties.

How Concentrated Is Porn Site Traffic?
Very concentrated at the top. Pornhub and XVideos took 51.1% of the visits to the 10 biggest adult video and cam sites in September 2026, and the top 3 took 65.9% (our calculation from Semrush data).
Pornhub alone had 30.7%, XVideos 20.5% and xHamster 14.8%. The 7 sites ranked 4th to 10th shared the remaining 34.1%.
The wider market is far more spread out. In the UK, Pornhub is the largest porn service but has only about 6% of total visits, and the top 10 services together hold around 25%, according to Ofcom data reported by ISPreview.
By owner, Aylo’s sites took 32.2% of top-10 visits, WGCZ Holding’s 30.9% and the Wisebits-linked sites 20.6%. Eporner, Chaturbate and LiveJasmin, outside those groups, shared the other 16.3%.

We reviewed 148 data points from 33 sources. Traffic figures are third-party estimates from Semrush and Similarweb for September 2026, modelled from panel and clickstream data. Semrush, the main source, labels XNXX, Eporner, Stripchat, Chaturbate, LiveJasmin and YouPorn as adult sites but leaves them off its adult ranking page, so their visits come from Semrush’s individual site pages. Similarweb’s free pages show visits under a “last 3 months” heading; we treat them as monthly figures for September 2026.
EU user figures are the platforms’ own declarations under the Digital Services Act, plus Commission and Similarweb estimates. UK figures come from Ofcom’s Online Nation reports, which draw on online audience panels and Similarweb estimates. Aylo’s daily-visitor figure is company-reported.
Ownership details come from company registries as reported by netzpolitik.org, Der Spiegel and NDR, court records and Wikipedia; WGCZ’s 93% stake is from its 2019 annual report and may have changed since.
